SAN RAFAEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 1948

The Kiddos - October 24, 2015

The alums of the the San Rafael Elementary School Class of 1954 met at the Marriott Courtyard on the morning of
55th PHS Reunion and had lunch at the Cheese Factory, followed by a visit to the San Rafael campus. The San Rafael
Principal, Rudy Ramirez, was at the school for the annual Holloween Carnival and graciously gave us a tour, including
the infamous "Boiler Room" where our Principal at the time, Ruth Toy, was reputed to have taken misbehaving
students for a paddling. It was wonderful to see former classmates and share our times at San Rafael. Many thanks
to Janie Arrington for organizing this event and to Janie and Tom Bent for driving the group to the school and touring
the old neighborhood - a great place to have grown up!
